Who we are
SelfAttend (“we”, “us”) is a student attendance tracker available at selfattend.com. This policy explains what information we collect and how we use it.
Information we collect
- Account information — when you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture to create your account.
- Attendance data — the university, college, course, semester and subjects you choose, and the attendance you mark in the app.
- Preferences — theme, language, notification settings and your attendance goals.
- Push subscriptions — if you enable notifications, a push subscription token from your browser so we can send reminders and alerts.
- Usage & device data — basic technical data (browser, device type) used to operate and secure the service.
How we use your information
- To provide the attendance tracking features and keep your data in sync.
- To send you notifications you opt into (daily reminders, low-attendance alerts, college notices).
- To maintain, secure and improve the service.
Cookies and advertising
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in. We also display ads through Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet. Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us run SelfAttend (such as hosting, database and Google services for sign-in and ads), and where required by law.
Data retention & your rights
We keep your data while your account is active. You can clear your academic data anytime from Profile → Reset data, and you can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.
Children
SelfAttend is intended for college students. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
